Group & Team Maker
Turn a class list into balanced random groups — choose how many students per group or how many groups you want, and reshuffle until the mix feels right. Great for projects, lab pairs, and discussion teams.
How to use the group & team maker
- 1Paste your student names, one per line.
- 2Choose either students-per-group or total number of groups.
- 3Click "Make groups" to split the class randomly.
- 4Hit "Shuffle again" until you are happy with the mix.

Can I set the number of groups instead of group size?
Yes — switch the mode to "Number of groups" and the tool spreads students as evenly as possible.
What happens to leftover students?
Remaining students are distributed one-by-one across the existing groups so sizes stay balanced.
Does it remember my class list?
Everything runs in your browser during the session. Nothing is uploaded or stored on our side.
